We are pleased to announce that we will be holding singer auditions for the second part of the season (summer concert in May: Zimbe The Songs of Africa and Classical Music) on Monday the 9th of January 2017 from 16h30 to early evening. Three different locations are available in District 7, District 2 and District 3.
Please send an email to director.icohcmc@gmail.com beforehand to make the best location and time appointment for you and for us. For the audition, you need to prepare a short song of your choice (without accompaniment), and you will be asked to do a bit of sight singing too.
People wishing to join the Orchestra ne…ed to email Mr Ian Alexander directly (orchestra.icohcmc@gmail.com) to set date and time for audition. You should be of approximately grade 6 (ABRSM/Trinity) or above standard. There may be a waiting list depending on the current needs of the Orchestra.

Xin chào các bạn, những người muốn tham gia các hoạt động của Hợp Xướng Quốc Tế và Dàn Nhạc TP Hồ Chí Minh (International Choir and Orchestra of HCMC).
Chúng tôi rất vui mừng thông báo rằng chúng tôi sẽ tổ chức buổi thử giọng cho chương trình mới (buổi hòa nhac mùa hè trong tháng 5: Zimbe Các Bài Hát Châu Phí + Nhạc Cổ Điển) vào chiều thứ hai ngày 9 tháng 1 từ 4g30 đến buổi tối sớm ở ba địa điểm tùy chọn: quận 7, quận 2 và quận 3.
Xin vui lòng gửi email đến director.icohcmc@gmail.com trước để xác nhận địa điểm và thời giờ cuộc hẹn tốt nhất cho các bạn và cho chúng tôi. Đối với buổi thử giọng, các bạn cần chuẩn bị một bài hát ngắn tùy chọn (không có đệm), và các bạn cũng sẽ phải xướng âm một chút.
Những người muốn tham gia Dàn Nhạc cần liên lạc với Ông Ian Alexander trực tiếp (orchestra.icohcmc@gmail.com) để chọn ngày và thời giờ của buổi audition. Các bạn cần có khả năng chơi nhạc cụ từ trình độ trung cấp nhạc viện tphcm trở lên hoặc từ khá đến giỏi (từ trình độ 6 của ABRSM/Trinity trở lên). Có thể có một danh sách dự bị tùy thuộc vào nhu cầu hiện tại của Dàn nhạc.

As a choir, we hold auditions for the International Choir twice every year. One in August and then again in January for our Spring concert. Please keep an eye on the website for dates and time of auditions in January 2017.
Requirements are to have the ability to read music (notes and rhythm), and have a good ear. At the audition you will be asked to sing a simple warm-up exercise (so we can hear your range), clap some simple rhythms (from standard music notation), sight-read some very simple music, and sing a song of your choice.
